I love your reflection on the meal blessing-we forget that rote/traditional prayers are rote/traditional for a reason-there is depth and richness to them when we pay attention. Thank you so much, Elise! I love how those rote prayers show up for us in multiple spaces. Lately my middle-of-the-night waking is only soothed by Rosaries counted on my fingers and I thank God (and Mary, ha) for the gift of prayers we know in our bones.
