What a thoughtful, beautiful post! I purposefully saved it until I had time to read it with rapt attention, and I'm so glad I did. I will be sharing this one--so many lessons here!
So grateful i got to experience Fall this year and be enraptured by the power of it beauty. Your words continue and deepen my rumination of the season. I read that the glorious colors of Fall are a result of chlorophyll taking a back seat..so other chemicals can do their work. A season of relinquishment indeed.
I was glad to leave before the colours fade and the bareness and barenness stare back at me... You have clearly sat with bone-weary and bone-aching experiences to have words like these.
Fall…what has felt like a violent stripping is actually a buoyant breeze, floating my listless, dried up cares all the way down to the ground…holy ground, where He whispers softly among the skittering crunch, “I’m here, I never left, you are not alone, you are so loved…” Thank you,Laura for helping me remember there’s always beauty to be found in the bones
The quiet voice whispering to us amidst the crunching leaves: I love this sound, and I love what you've named here to help me listen to it anew. Thank you for this!
You put into words, my thoughts! Thank you for giving your words to savor. Fall has always been my favorite. My feeling of despair at times has juggled my memory of re-birth in the Spring. Our lives are a continuing ebb and flow of despair and then joy.
Very deep and smart. I love this!!!
Thank you!
Thank you for so beautifully describing why I love this season.
Thank you, Meghan. I am learning to love it! The bones of the trees have been haunting me for weeks, and it helped to sit down and parse out why.
Exactly what I was thinking!
I had to read this twice!
That is high praise, Melissa - thank you!
Wonderful thoughts and share!! Thank you!
Thanks so much, Leana.

"A season of relinquishment" - what a beautiful metaphor for letting go so other parts of nature can do their work. Thank you for this, Jenni!
Loved every word. <3.
Thank you, friend!

Your last line - how beautifully put. We need the wisdom and perspective of the ebb and flow of seasons.
