So beautifully said. ❤️🙏🏼 comparing and/or minimizing our sufferings can lead us into resentment and away from true healing, found like you said in community and in the presence of Christ in each of our crosses.

I love your examples… The death of your twins and the death of the baby not yet born--both the loss of children. The loss of dreams through infertility. The yearning to marry, and start a family--all part of suffering in the beloved community. And especially the idea that someone who smoked is not worthy of empathy when they get lung cancer, but rather judgment.

This was beautifully written and an accurate description of trying to acknowledge one’s suffering and grief while being aware of the worlds suffering as well. I wish for your cold to improve and your body to continue to heal. Rest when you can and immerse in funny, comforting shoes and movies. It helps to step away from all the heaviness in our hearts and minds.
