"Give me only your love and your grace. That is enough for me."
Want to get ready for Holy Week together? (I know, it's almost here!)
I’ve been trying to memorize the short version of the Suscipe (a powerful prayer from Saint Ignatius of Loyola) that the Pray As You Go app uses at the end of their daily prayer in Lent. Whew, it’s a good one:
“You have given all to me. To you, Lord, I return it. Everything is yours. Do with it what you will. Give me only your love and your grace. That is enough for me.”
Let’s get ready for Holy Week! Join me and the C21 Center at Boston College for Part 2 of our virtual retreat next Thursday, April 10th. We’ll be Walking Through Holy Week, reflecting on each day from Palm Sunday to Easter. If you want to prepare for this holiest week, if your Lenten practices slipped away from you, if you work in ministry during this busy season and need your own retreat time, if you’re new to celebrating these liturgies OR if you simply need an hour of prayerful reflection, join us for FREE here! (No need to re-register if you joined for Session 1. You’re already on the list, so check your email soon.)
Bonus gathering for Boston residents: the C21 Center is hosting two more labyrinth walks at the Boston College Memorial Labyrinth in April. Details here.
The latest from The Porter’s Gate is the only thing keeping me from listening to all new Mumford, all the time. How delightful is the album title, too—The Kingdom of Jesus: Songs for The After Party.
Reading hopeful fiction is one of the healthiest escapes right now. “When real life is painful and our faith in humanity is tested, there’s tremendous power in stories that offer us a different perspective. The characters aren’t real, these stories whisper, but hope is. Remember that.” From Ginny Kubitz Moyer, Fictional hope is still hope: The power of uplifting stories.
Quick follow up on Easter goodies. Could not resist this Catholic Rubix cube. Or this Easter candle sticker. Thanks to your suggestions, I snagged a few treats from Catholic Family Crate (the link should give you 20% off). What have you found?
I put a poem on Facebook each day. Saturday is a special day. May I share your poem and notes? My friends will be glad for it as I am.
And I do like the poem. And the courage of so many. Cory Booker.
My wife and I will walk tomorrow. We will stand.
Peace.
