I was once that parent in the airport with a daughter safely home in the aftermath of Katrina. Lovely. Thank you.

there comes a day- for us recently, no longer a home to go to. The arms that waited for us from college, bringing the grandkids, or greeting us at the door when we bring a meal are now waiting for us, with the Lord. its a weird place- a bit surreal but good in that their love feels expanded beyond time.

There it is. Again. We know the story and hear it again. Thank you for helping us know ourselves, again.

Just read this one a little late. Still just as beautiful and meaningful. Maybe even more so. Just got all the family on their way home after a week long Christmas visit. Lots of relationships. Lots of family history. Lots and lots of imperfect love, but love was given and received. ❤️🙏🏻

Beautiful words as always, Laura. Kind of reminded me of the beginning airport scene from Love Actually and how much I adore it. Also... SHOULDERS. That poem!!! I'm going to read it to my kids <3

I ADORE Love Actually and always start the movie by crying at that airport scene. Did you know those are real people, not actors?

Aw, this was beautiful. You had a mama of a high schooler, who we are watching naturally move into his adult being but also watching him step away from home more and more (and come back!) tear up a bit! We are ever stumbling and getting up and returning home to joy.
