The Extraordinary Ordinary Time
First and foremost, thanks to so many of you for your support as Mothering Spirit launched its kickstarter e-book this week to raise funds to pay our writers. Starting and sharing something new always brings a mix of rejoicing and resistance. But your encouragement and support are helping us bring to life this dream of new writing on spirituality and parenting!
In case you missed it, The Extraordinary Ordinary Time is a brand-new e-book designed to deepen your prayer through Ordinary Time. This 45-page collection for your spiritual reflection draws together:
new essays and prayers for Ordinary Time
original poems to celebrate the spirit of this season
creative ways to pray through the weeks of Ordinary Time
plenty of Scripture to ponder
ideas for celebrating Ordinary Time in summer (and winter!)
100% of your purchase will go directly to support the new writers of Mothering Spirit, launching on Labor Day 2022. The Extraordinary Ordinary Time highlights the kind of content our writers will bring you each week starting in September: essays, prayers, and creative resources to pray through parenting. But the e-book is for everyone who wants to deepen their reflection in Ordinary Time. Learn more here.
Your turn
Tune into Mothering Spirit’s social media on Tuesday because we’re going to kick off a week-long giving effort to help “clear the lists” of parents, educators, catechists, and anyone who needs an extra boost in getting started with supplies for the new academic/activity year.
We’ll be sharing your wish lists (on Amazon or wherever you list your supplies) via social media so that others can pitch in. While we can’t promise to clear your whole list (and we don’t have the capacity to vet every list we’ll share), we hope this can make a small difference as we all turn the page toward September.
SO.
Now is the time for you to pull together a short (or long) list of supplies and materials you need for your own children or those you teach/serve/love! Send the link to us on Instagram or reply here. We’ll be sharing on Tuesday and encouraging people to give all week long.
(If you’re confused, learn more about the idea of “clear the list” here.)

Hi there! I’ve also sent a DM on Instagram but will add my list here as well. I’m a Special Education teacher in Missouri, where our school funding is ranked 49th in the nation. It is abysmal. I would love to have items cleared off my list for my students! Thank you for this opportunity!
